This year's Winkler Barracudas are back at it with just over 40 swimmers taking part with the team this year.

They have been practicing for 6 weeks now and competed in their first swim meet of the year on Sunday, July 9th in Pilot Mound. Some standout performances included:

Kaylea Peters and Finn Soltis who compete in the very competitive 13 and 14-year-old category. Kaylea earned three first place finishes and two-thirds in her races. Finn earned first place in all five of his races.

Finley Folkett and Jace Zacharias competed in the 11 and 12-year-old category. Finley earned four seconds place finishes and one-third in her races while Jace earned a first and three-second place finishes in his.

After a year hiatus, the Barracudas will be hosting a Swim Manitoba Summer Grand Prix swim meet on Sunday, July 30 with races beginning at 9:00 a.m. We also have meets coming up July 16 in Manitou, July 23 in Neepawa, and the championships will be in Beausejour on August 20.
