The Winkler Flyers have added more size and grit with the addition of two new players for the 2017-18 season. The Flyers have acquired defenseman Jarrod Isley (98) from the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL) and have signed forward Tyson Novakoski (99) from Saskatchewan.

Jarrod Isley is a 6’3”, 198lbs blueliner from Grande Prairie, Alberta. He split time last season with the Mustangs (SJHL) and Alberni Valley Bulldogs (AJHL) recording two assists and 18 penalty minutes in 26 games played.

“Jarrod is a big stay at home defenseman who plays physical,” said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson. “He will add experience and competition to our back end and is great in the dressing room.”

Tyson Novakoski is a 5’10”, 170lbs forward from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The 18-year-old played last season with the Delisle Chiefs (PJHL) where he had 14 points (4 goals – 10 assists) and 20 penalty minutes.

“Tyson is a solid two-way player who is very responsible in his own end,” said Pearson. “He provides energy and work ethic and is very good on the penalty-kill. Tyson will add grit and a physical presence to our roster.”

The Flyers will open training camp on Wednesday, August 30th.
