Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Calgary Flames 2-0 Monday night at MTS Centre.

"Shots are fun and that game was fun," said Hellebuyck who recorded his third shutout of the season. "The way the guys are playing in front of me just made it even more fun because they were controlling the shots and making it easy on me."

Dustin Byfuglien and Blake Wheeler did the goal scoring for the Jets.

Nikolaj Ehlers extended his point streak to five games as he drew an assist on Byfuglien's first period goal.

It was Winnipeg's first game without forward Patrick Laine.

The NHL's rookie scoring leader was diagnosed with a concussion after taking an open ice hit from Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe this past Saturday.

The Jets (20-20-3) host the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday and then play road games against the Arizona Coyotes on Friday; the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday and the San Jose Sharks on Monday.
