The Winnipeg Jets gave up a pair of third period goals and lost 2-1 to the St. Louis Blues Wednesday night at Bell MTS Place in game one of the NHL's best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Patrik Laine got the home team on the board first as he scored at 13:28 of the first period.

David Perron got the equalizer for the Blues 4:05 into the third period and Tyler Bozak potted the winner with 2:05 left in regulation.

St. Louis netminder Jordan Binnington made 24 saves in his Stanley Cup playoffs debut including a stellar stop on Mark Scheifele's one-timer from the right face off circle with 15 seconds remaining.

Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck faced 26 shots.

The Jets were 9-0 when leading after the second period in the 2018 playoffs.

Game two goes Friday (8:30 p.m.) at Bell MTS Place.
