Derek Grant scored 5:08 into the final frame and Zach Aston-Reese potted the winner with 5:12 remaining.
Sidney Crosby and Riley Sheahan also scored for the Penguins who extended their point streak to five games.
Pittsburgh goaltender Casey DeSmith stopped 24 shots.
Mark Scheifele scored his 12th & 13th goals of the season for Winnipeg.
Brandon Tanev opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal seven minutes into the first period.
Connor Hellebuyck faced 30 shots.
Patrik Laine had his five-game point streak and four-game goal streak come to an end.
The Jets (13-8-2) will wrap up their two-game homestand Thursday night against the Chicago Blackhawks.
