Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler and Kevin Hayes each had a goal and two assists as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Nashville Predators 5-3 Friday night at Bell MTS Place.

Kyle Connor and Tyler Myers also scored for the Jets who moved one point ahead of Nashville in the race for first place in the NHL’s Central Division.

Goals by Viktor Arvidsson and P.K. Subban staked the Predators to a 2-0 lead but Winnipeg scored four unanswered starting with Scheifele’s 32nd of the season with 4:12 left in the second period.

Mattias Ekholm also scored for the Predators.

Winnipeg goaltender Laurent Brossoit made 35 saves while Nashville’s Pekka Rinne stopped 27 shots.

The Jets (38-22-4) begin a four-game road trip Sunday when they face the Columbus Blue Jackets.
