The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League announced Cade Kowalski of the Pembina Valley Hawks is the Player of the Week for the second straight week.

Kowalski is the first player in the last two seasons to win back to back Player of the Week Awards.

With 6 points in just two games, Kowalski’s efforts again helped the Hawks sweep their weekend games.

On Friday, Kowalski assisted on the game's opening goal just 36 seconds in. He added a shorthanded goal in the second period and scored his second of the game just a minute into the third. Following that performance up, Kowalski opened the scoring for the Hawks on Saturday. He would later add an assist on the game's second goal and capped his night with a second apple on the power play.

With 14 points in four games, Kowalski has lead the Hawks to four consecutive wins. They sit just a single point back of the Winnipeg Thrashers in the battle for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Cade’s impressive two week stretch has vaulted him into third in the league in total points, with 56. The playmaker now leads the league in assists with 42.
