The Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League announced that forwards Sage McElroy-Scott of the Pembina Valley Hawks and Winnipeg Avros' Hannah Pales are the Players of the week.

Sage McElroy-Scott continues to be a strong contributor for the Pembina Valley Hawks in her third year. Sage had two goals and an assist in the hawks 5-2 win over Interlake on Friday night and had a hat trick in thehawks 4-0 win over Interlake on Saturday night. Although McElroy didn't get any points in the hawks 2-1 shootout loss to the Avros, she continued to be strong force both defensively and offensively. She sits at second in the league for points with 11 goals and 16 assists.

Hannah Pales of the Winnipeg Avros is a defenseman and assistant captain Hannah Pales on the team. Pales has put up tons of minutes for the Avros this year as she is depended on in all situations - 5v5, Power Play and Penalty Kill. Hannah recorded a plus four record on Saturday against Central Plains also collecting two goals and an assist in the teams 4-1 win over the Caps. She was an integral part of the teams offense with her relentless puck pursuit creating many scoring chances off the rush. Not only was her compete level high in the offensive zone but Hannah also played a strong defensive game winning the tight area battles low in her own zone. Hannah carried her tenacity into our game against Pembina Valley on Sunday and notched the shoot out winner. She was a strong physical presence on the ice and again could be found creating turn overs in the offensive zone.
