Brooklyn Platt will play hockey for the Assiniboine Community College Cougars this fall.

The Carman native, who recorded 23 goals and 39 assists in 66 games this past season with the Manitoba Female AAA Midget Hockey League champion Pembina Valley Hawks, has committed to play for the Brandon school next season.

"Brooklyn is a smart player that recognizes plays on the ice quickly and reacts well in all situations," said ACC head coach Terry Arksey in a Cougars media release. "She is a playmaker and will be a huge contributor for our offensive lineup."

Platt, who plans to pursue a career in counselling and will start her post-secondary education in the college’s Social Service Worker program, is the fourth Hawks player to join the Cougars hockey team.

The others are Morden's Erin Doherty, Alyssa Alderson and Kenzie Heide.

The Cougars played their inaugural season of Division II hockey in the American Collegiate Association in 2016-2017.
