The Pembina Valley Twisters set a team record for points in a season, one year after missing the playoffs.

Quade Froese scored twice and Travis Klassen made 33 saves as Pembina Valley won it’s regular season finale 5-1 over the St. Vital Victorias Friday on Fan Appreciation Night at the Morris Arena.

Braeden Beernaerts, Nick Hatley and Elijah Carels also scored for the Twisters who finished in first place in the MMJHL with an impressive 35-6-4 record.

The 74 points put up this season by Pembina Valley eclipsed the old mark of 73 set in 2009-2010.

The Twisters will face the Charleswood Hawks in the first round of the playoffs.

The best-of-seven quarterfinal series begins Friday, March 15th in Morris.
