Approximately 215 campers enjoyed great weather and activities at the Pembina Valley Bible Camp (PVBC) this summer, said Chris Harms, Executive Director of PVBC.

Outdoor activities included wall climbing, archery, biking, horseback riding, paintball, arts and crafts, dancing, and wilderness survival.

A favourite pastime for campers was an outdoor night game called 'invasion', added Harms.

"Weather-wise we couldn't have asked for a better summer. We didn't have too many rain days or storm days...last year we had several tornado watches come over camp throughout the summer and a number of large thunder storms," he explained.

Harms said that for him, the highlight of the summer was seeing lives changed. He said it was nice to see kids getting away from the distractions and business of life.

"A lot healing took place this summer," he said.

Harms believes the small size of the camp and it's location make it unique from others.

"For us being set out in the valley here, being far away from the community... and then with us being a smaller camp we just had the opportunity to be really intentional with small groups of people, so that's just an area that we've really focused in on, is just being intentional with our relationships and how we run camp," said Harms.
