Enbridge's Line 3 Replacement Program is supporting three of Altona's projects.

Funding was given to the Altona Ash Park Playground Project in the amount of $10,000, the Emergency Operations Centre in the amount of $20,000, and the Altona Library in the amount of $5,000.

"We've had some feedback from the community asking for different play structures, more up to date play structures, just general improvements," said Altona CAO Dan Gagne. He added the library funds will go toward a new desk at Altona's South Central Regional Library.

As for the Emergency Operations Centre, Gagne said this money will be used to change the central location from the Millennium Exhibition Centre to the Civic Centre.

"In the latest exercise that we did, we highlighted some weaknesses of being in the current location," said Gagne. "It meant renovating some space, and also getting guaranteed power back-up... in case of an emergency."

Enbridge is also a new lead donor for the Nellie McClung Heritage Site in Manitou, after donating $25,000 toward continued refurbishment of the homes.

The Nellie McClung Heritage Site restoration is aimed at boosting Manitoba town's tourism.

Currently, Enbridge's Community Investment funds benefit communities in close proximity to the Line 3 Replacement pipeline, and supports projects such as parks and playgrounds, community hall and recreation centre upgrades, emergency response equipment and more.
