Community support was very apparent at this year's annual Boundary Trails Health Centre Fundraising Banquet.
Thousands of dollars were raised again this year and Foundation Chair Debra Enns says this support will mean a lot as plans come together for an expansion to the health centre. It was announced at the banquet, that a committee has officially been formed to start work on these plans.
"We have all parties involved at the table. We are looking forward to talking, brainstorming and making sure that one day we will see that come to fruition. We need all parties to come together to make it work. Being at the table together like this, is a great step (towards this goal).
Enns says the health centre and its foundation will be celebrating their 15th anniversary next year, and there are already plans in place to have Candlewick Productions put on a play outlining the history of the Boundary Trails Health Centre, how it started and how it got to where it is now. She adds, it's amazing to see the things they've accomplished over the past 14 years, and she looks forward to continuing that success.
This year's banquet featured Olympic Gold Medallist Jennifer Jones as the guest speaker for the evening. She shared her story, and how she hopes that everyone can remember to enjoy the moment they're in and not get caught up in the pressure of life.
