Organizers of the Morden Triathlon recently donated $4,000 to the community.

Organizers recently gave back $1,000 to both the South Central Cancer Resource Centre and Many Hands Resource Centre and Morden Caring and Sharing.

The Darlingford Fire Department and Morden Fire Department each received $500 to be forwarded to their charity of choice. Darlingford Fire donated their money to the Manitou Cheer Board and Morden Fire gave to the Children's Hospital Burn Fund.

Co-Director of the Triathlon, Stephanie Dueck, says the money donated was raised through sponsors and the fee racers pay to enter the event held this past July.

"It's been a long-standing tradition to have an event that brings people in from around Manitoba, and sometimes from other provinces as well, and we enjoy giving back to our own community," said Dueck.

The 34th annual Morden Triathlon was held July 8th and 9th.
