UPDATE: Winkler Police say the accident occurred after a vehicle that had stopped facing east at the intersection of Southview Dr. and 1st St. proceeded to make a left-hand turn with the intention of travelling north on 1st St. The driver of the vehicle crossed over too far and onto the shoulder before over-correcting and colliding with a southbound vehicle. One driver was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Emergency crews were called out to what appears to be a two-vehicle collision at the corner of PTH 32 and Southview Dr. Wednesday afternoon. The vehicles both ended up in the ditch west of the highway.

Winkler Police Service and paramedics were on scene.

No other information is known at this time.
