Those driving in the northeastern part of Morden will have to keep an eye out and slow down as two new speed reduction signs have been installed.

The two 30 kilometres signs have been installed on Elam St. around the corner on the southeast side and one at the intersection of 1st St. and Rampton St.

The decision was discussed at Council's October Committee of the Whole Meeting, and implications were made in response to recommendations of safety concerns to increased traffic flow and more parents and children on the street with two daycare centres.

Crosswalks have also been implemented. One installed at the west side of the Pembina Valley Child Care Centre across Rampton St. to connect to the existing sidewalk on the south side of Rampton St. complete with signs, concrete ramps and paint to high light crosswalk area. The other would be located on the east side of the new childcare centre parking lot across Rampton St. and would be connected with the existing sidewalk.

Unlike school zones, the 30km zones around the daycares remain in effect at all times.
