The Altona Police Service is investigating a pair of break-ins at two local gas stations.

The first incident happened during the night on June 1st when a lone, masked suspect broke in to the Co-op Gas Bar in Plum Coulee and stole a batch of lottery tickets and a bottle of alcohol. Video surveillance shows the suspect driving away in a dark coloured Dodge Caliber.

Then in the early morning hours of June 11th, police were called to another break and enter at the Domo Gas Mart in Altona. The suspect(s) made off with cash from both the ATM and safe located inside the business, as well as the digital video recording device.

Police don't know if the two incidents are related but remind business owners to make nightly deposits and ensure that alarms and video surveillance equipment are in good working order. They even suggest hiding the recording equipment from plain sight.

Anyone with information with respect to these two crimes, or any other crime, is asked to contact the Altona Police Service at 204-324-5353 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8467. Police pay cash for information that leads to a conviction.
