Since it opened, the Morden pump bike track has had a number of riders on it. This prompted Jeff Scott and the City of Morden to come together and offer bike workshops.

"It's great to see people interested," said Recreation Programmer Stephanie Dueck who has already had people sign up for the three workshops.

Dueck said the 'Basic Off Road Bike Handling' workshop for ages 9+ starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday is a great starter program.

"There you are going to do a bike safety check, body position, and basic cornering and braking techniques," said Dueck.

'Pump and Flow' (ages 9+) is the second workshop, which will commence after lunch. According to Dueck this workshop will feature topics on the pump track and cornering at higher speeds.

The final workshop of the day will be teaching riders about Jumps and Bumps (ages 12+).

"This will include an introduction into small drops and jumps and riding over logs and bridges," said Dueck.

These free workshops will be held in the Morden Park on Saturday. Recreation Programmer Stephanie Dueck explained there is only room for 15 people per workshop and you can sign up by contacting Dueck at the Access Event Centre.

Dueck noted riders will need to have their own bike, a helmet, and running shoes to take part in the workshops.
