Starting Monday, there will be three full-time doctors working at the Carman & Community Health Centre. Chairman, Les Vanderveen says the Board has successfully recruited two new doctors this year.

He explained that Dr. Tyler Atchison began working this past summer.

"He is a recent grad from the University of Manitoba and finished his residency in Fredericton, New Brunswick."

Vanderveen adds Dr. Sonya Vermeulen will start work in Carman first thing Monday morning.

"She comes to us from South Africa. We recruited her about a year-and-a-half ago and she has in that time, been going through the medical assessment program and has completed that."

These latest hires mean there will be three full-time doctors working at the Health Centre starting next week.

Vanderveen said he looks forward to the stability this will bring to the clinic and to E-R services in Carman.

A rotation of doctors from the region also fills in at the Health Centre for an equivalent of 1.5 days a week. Vanderveen added that the Health Centre also employs one full-time and one part-time nurse practitioner.
