Tuesday evening, Children's Camps International celebrated the work of over 700 registered volunteers who helped make the World Record Harvest a success.

"We have not had a follow-up since the big event, which of course ended so abruptly on the day, so we just got everybody together to share what had happened and to share stories," says George Klassen, 2018 Record Harvest Coordinator.

People from 59 different countries have been watching the videos and donating in response. As of September $925,000 had been raised, which has now climbed to the $1,000,000 mark.

"The best thing was that we just all got together, had a good time of sharing [and] telling stories," says Klassen.

He adds, there will always be kids in the world to send to camp, so it is exciting to have a number of volunteers who plan to continue serving.

"It's very moving when you see all the different people coming together. The people that regularly go to church, the ones that don't, and they're all there for a common good."

For those looking to find other ways to donate, they also have an online store where you can buy things like camper sponsorships, Bible lesson materials, art supplies, and sports equipment.

Klassen says the Christmas gifts are a great way to donate "because it takes so little to actually impact the children in developing countries, so that's a very unique opportunity to buy some gifts and help send more kids to camp."

Memory books from the harvest are now avaliable at the CCI office in Winkler, or click here to find them in the online store.
