The Love Gretna event took place again this year, marking its second year.

Spokesperson Connie Dansereau said last year was a success so they wanted to keep the event going. The committee even received calls from people giving suggestions of how the community can help each other this time around.

People taking part in Love Gretna will help neighbours with odd jobs.

"I had some people contact me saying 'Hey, are you doing Love Gretna again, I'm needing my weeds pulled or my windows washed," Dansereau explained.

She was happy to see word being spread of the event, and said the group will help anyone that needs it.

"It's basically anyone, anyone that needs a helping hand, anyone that's too busy or can't do it," said Dansereau.

Last year around 24 people took part, and Dansereau hopes for more people this year.

Dansereau heard of the "Love Day" through a friend, so she contacted the person in charge of Love Morris to get ideas and advice.

"Everyone needs and deserves love," she added. "My goal is just to show love."
