Over 200 people gathered in Winkler for the annual Canadian Lumber/Tim-Br Mart Construction & Renovation Trade Show Thursday afternoon to keep up with the latest trends in the industry.

Dwight Neufeld is the Store Manager for the Altona store and has been working for the company 21 years. After talking about it for a few years, the Altona branch has taken on a part in the show making this the first year where all three of the Winkler, Morden, and Altona branches were involved.

30 vendors were set up in the Winkler Arena, each of them with new products to display. One of these is a new aluminum railing produced in the Vancouver area. It is becoming increasingly popular in Western Canada due to its sleek look and durability compared to typical wooden railing.

The businesses in attendance have been working with Canadian Lumber/Tim-Br Mart for many years. Most of them coming out of Canada, and a few from the United States.

"Most of the companies that we’re dealing with now are still the companies we’ve always done business with. There’s new startups of course, you always have the new startups, but the traditional builders are still the traditional builders. We enjoy doing business with those guys," said Winkler Store Manager, Brian Penner.

Both the vendors and attendees seemed pleased with the event turnout.

"We’re just glad that the weather turned out the way it did today and for everybody that came out. We’re happy to put this on for them," said Penner.
