A motorist from Lowe Farm who got lost and then stuck on a country road during the chilly, early morning hours of Saturday, December 10th managed to survive the ordeal in pretty good shape.

Rosenort Fire Chief Bernard Schellenberg says the driver became stuck when it hit the ditch along PR 422 and was unsure of where he was.

Schellenberg says the man called 911 for assistance and local fire crew members along with RCMP began search operations. The temperature dipped to about -26 celcius overnight.

"RCMP dispatched their two dog teams along with their Ground Search and Rescue unit. STARS was also dispatched to help look."

The car was eventually found, but there was no one in it. Search teams continued to scour the area and eventually they found him on a nearby farmyard.

"A neighbour had heard all the commotion going on outside and so began looking on his own yard and found the man in his car shed," said Schellenberg. "He had walked about a mile from his vehicle and it was cold that night, so I'm glad he was O.K."

Schellenberg says the man was examined by paramedics and was in good shape.
