Around 75 unsuspecting people in Morden and Winkler received a Valentine's Day performance of a love song courtesy of the grade seven and eight jazz choir from Ecole Morden Middle School.

For $25, small groups of choir members would travel to office buildings and even restaurants to deliver the choral gifts.

The Singing Valentines is a fundraiser which has been happening for at least three years. This time, it's helping to send the jazz choir to Minneapolis where it will perform at a couple schools, attend a workshop at a college, and tour the city.

"It's a great opportunity for so many reasons," said choir director Heather Clyde.

"They get the chance to get out of their comfort zone. These kids are not only leaving their homes, they're leaving their country for a few days without their parents."

The choir will have many chances to sing and grow as an ensemble through the workshop and listening to lots of new music.
