The Member of Parliament for Provencher says he's very pleased with the results from this weekend's Conservative leader election.

Ted Falk says he supported Andrew Scheer from the beginning and thinks he will keep the Conservative Party united, leading them to a 2019 Federal election win.

"One of the first things, he's going to bring a strong sense of unity to the team. I know that he's been part of the leadership of our party in the past and he understands what it takes to build a team. I think he's going to make sure the team is strong and ready to go in the next election."

Falk says a strength of Scheer's is being focused on making sure the voice of the taxpayer is heard.

"I'm looking forward to working under the leadership of Andrew, I know he will bring a strong sense of team to the party. He will also be very focused on making sure we are the voice of the taxpayer and that we are the voice of everyday Canadians. I think we will start to see that more, certainly in the House of Commons when Andrew shows his leadership in question period."

Falk adds the first choice voting system went well noting it provided equal representation for each constituency riding.
