A fund raising campaign in Pilot Mound has really taken off.

A local group wanted to raise $5,000 to $10,000 to put towards a new playground in the community.

Committee member Booke Gelo says they decided to use 'Chase the Ace' as their fund raising tool.

"We started months ago and now 42 weeks later still no winner and the prize this weekend will be over $100,000."

Gelo said they've been averaging anywhere from 500 to 800 people in town on Friday nights buy thousands of tickets for a chance to win the grand prize.

"We sell tickets between 6:00pm and 8:00pm and last week we sold 15,000 and this week expect to hit our weekly maximum of 20,000 tickets."

Gelo says they've got buses coming to town and people are coming in from across the province for their chance of winning.

"If these draws keep going without a winner the grand prize will get even higher."

The community group plans to spend about $100,000 on the playground project and that could include a washroom facility.

"If we end up with a lot of extra money it will likely go to some other community groups."
