A craft and vendor sale took over the Northlands Parkway Collegiate (NPC) Friday evening and all day Saturday to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House in Winnipeg.

Around 37 vendors selling, crafts, baking, and home decor set up their tables to support a cause which affects many parents from the area.

"We personally had a preemie daughter that was in St. Boniface and Ronald McDonald House graciously offered their service to me," said co-organizer of the sale, Margaret Fehr, adding her extended family has also spent time at the respite home.

"So with those people in mind, that's where the idea started," she said. "A lot of families use that service."

Fehr has been organizing events like this weekend's craft sale for two years, and she always arranges for a worthy cause to receive funds. The sale at NPC featured a raffle for dozens of different prizes, and that money was all going toward the Ronald McDonald House.

That charity was chosen by the vendor's vote, which Fehr suggests may indicate that many of the vendors have had experience with it before, like she has.

So far the event has raised over $1,100.
