Seeding operations across our region are in full swing.

Menno Dyck, who farms south of Rosetown, says they're making good progress.

"We're almost done with our corn. We have to wait a little bit because some of the fields are a touch too wet, but by Wednesday we should be done with the corn. We have some wheat left and another day or two of canola."

This is the time of year when farmers put in long days as they try to take advantage of the favourable weather conditions and Dyck says that's the case in the area he farms.

"There are a lot of hours going in right now, because the ground is so saturated that if we were to get an inch or two of rain we probably won't be going for awhile, so everyone is pushing quite hard."

Dyck says, for the most part, field conditions are excellent and seeding is only slightly behind last year's pace.
