Darlene Wirth, a teacher at Minnewasta Elementary School in Morden, and her class created a book for new students at the school.

The project was started in November of 2017, with five students from her class bringing their case to the school board. Shortly after Christmas, a grant of $1000 was approved and the class started to write as soon as they could.

The book, titled "Welcome to Morden" was ready for printing on May 31, with the book completed a few days later.

"I want to see people with smiles on their faces that came into Morden," explained Tommy Rothenburger, a student who wrote for the book.

David Giesbrecht, a fellow student, noted he had fun writing and drawing for the book. He was excited that he and his classmates have become "a real publisher."

Willow Winslow commented the book was made to introduce new students and kids to Morden and Canada.
