Positive results have been realized through trust building efforts among trustees and senior administration in Garden Valley School Division (GVSD).

GVSD Board Chair, Laurie Dyck says establishing trust has been a big focus in the division over the last year and a half.  She says Superintendent Vern Reimer has been leading professional development groups on trust, based on books and videos by Andy Stanley.

Dyck says they have now been accepted to lead a workshop on establishing trust at next month's annual meeting of the Manitoba School Boards Association. "We've seen success in how it's changed how we interact with each other, and if you all get along at your school admin table, board table, or in your classroom, why not share that success with others."

Dyck says since implementing trust building within GVSD, it's done some great things.  She says its healed relationships, and it's also created new ones.

As they lead the workshop next month, Dyck says they will speak on how establishing trust has impacted them as trustees, and Superintendent Vern Reimer will share testimonies of how it's impacted others in the division.
