Aiden Friesen's love for the Harvest Festival and its carnival rides has caught the attention of the Wonder Shows owners.

Friesen explains he looks forward to the summer festival all year round, and he's been a fan for as long as he can remember.

His dad, Tom Friesen, explains Aiden's passion was ignited after going on his first ride with his grandfather at just three years old.

"Every year we had a routine, we go on rides on Saturday, but we had to come Friday to scout which rides we'd go on, and in what order," Tom says.

At 12 year old, Aiden uses his allowance and lawn mowing money to buy a wristband. He now picks Friday for its shorter lines and rides the Wonder Shows midway from opening till closing; 3:00 p.m to 11:00 p.m.

In anticipation this week he spent over four hours filming the Wonder Shows set-up process before putting the footage together as a short video on his iPod.

Since posting to social media on Wednesday, the video has been seen over 1,600  times, and even caught the attention of Wonder Shows owners Ken and Anita Kiernicki.

"It was fantastic," Anita says. "We were totally impressed."

The Kiernicki's were so grateful for Aiden's support, they presented him with a free t-shirt and cap, as well as free wristbands for the entire weekend for him and his siblings, along with extras for the Corn and Apple festival later this month.

Ken Kiernicki has been in the family carnival entertainment business for over 40 years and says seeing the reaction from people like Aiden is what keeps them going.

"That's really the most rewarding part of this business, it's a lot of work setting it up, tearing it down," Ken explains. "But it's very rewarding seeing people having fun."

The Harvest Festival takes place this weekend, Friday to Sunday, in Winkler.
