The 15th annual Eden Head For The Hills event raised roughly $20,000 more than last year, bringing in a total of $170,000.

"It's been growing over the past number of years," Director of Development at the Eden Foundation Earl Reimer said. "It's a wonderful event."

Money raised from this event will help cover the costs of all of the programs Eden Health Care Services offers including counseling and the wellness library.

"It's very important to provide resources for the community," said CEO Analyn Einarson.

Saturday around 220 riders participated in the 36 kilometre trek.

"I have been so impressed with the community support and the community spirit," said Einarson.

Einarson explained it was one thing to be part of the planning process, but to be able to see everyone come together and make the event happen.

"I am really thankful for the volunteers and our staff who make this happen. I'm grateful for James Friesen, who is our previous CEO who started this fifteen years ago, and he's more than happy to continue doing this."

She added it's great to see the event transform into a family friendly event and for it to teach younger generations about eliminating the stigma of mental health.
