Thursday afternoon the Minister of Infrastructure, Blaine Pedersen announced it will be cost sharing on six new projects in a variety of communities across the province. The announcement is a more than $3 million investment in Manitoba roadways.

Highway 32 will see improvements at the intersection of Hespeler Ave., as well as portions of the highway's shoulders.

According to Pedersen this portion of the project will happen in 2017, and added Winkler and Manitoba Infrastructure will be working together to complete future projects in the coming years. He went on to say each cost sharing project is different, in terms of how much each party is paying.

"There isn't a particular funding model on each of them. It's depending on the size of the project, depending on the capacity of the Municipality to participate in this," Pedersen said. "It's an agreement worked out between infrastructure and the participating Municipality."

The other five projects include;

- reconstruction of PTH 1A in Brandon from 34th Street to west of 38th Street;
- intersection improvements on PTH 3 at McCreary Road;
 -intersection improvements on PR 334 and Taylor Farm Road;
- drainage improvements and utility relocation on PR 332 in the vicinity of Starbuck; and
- paving provincial roads in Pilot Mound on PA 658 from Victoria Avenue to Mound Avenue and Broadway Avenue between Frazer Avenue and PTH 3.

Pedersen mentioned these are just a few projects, and is aware there is a lot more work needed to be done on Manitoba's roads.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution approaching and in construction zones for their own safety and the safety of workers.
