The Letellier Community Hall has been up and running since the summer of 2014 and is being well used, according to community officials.

The building was constructed at a cost of nearly $1 million and has served as an excellent venue for a variety of social functions with its large events room, multi-purpose room, and a fitness facility that was upgraded in January with new equipment through the Letellier Athletic Association.

Committee Chair Chad Buhlin said response to the new facility since it opened has been extraordinary.

"We've had weddings, funerals, and birthday parties. The new equipment in the fitness centre has definitely helped," said Buhlin. "We actually have people from communities around us that are looking for a good facility to work out in. A lot of communities around us have fitness facilities, but they're not up to par or do not have the right equipment for everyone. We spent a lot of money on equipment that people wanted and focused on being a very well rounded gym, so that if we don't have the right type of equipment, there are other options like free weights that you can use to supplement."

With a $1 million dollar price tag, Buhlin said it was important to the committee to have a facility that was not sitting idle, but was being used on a weekly basis at least. That formula appears to be working as the hall is generating income.

"The community was able to fundraise about 85 percent of the cost associated with building the hall, and now with this facility generating income, we're able to keep putting money towards the loan that we had take out," said Buhlin
