People with mobility issues now have easier access to physiotherapy treatments thanks to a new in-home service through the Pembina Valley Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre.

Karen Doell says their team will now perform house calls within Winkler, Morden, Carman and Altona.

She added this is something that she's wanted to offer for some time and feels there is a need for this kind of service, particularly among the senior population that may delay treatment because they don't want to risk further injury because they have to leave their homes, especially during the winter.

"So hopefully we can provide a service that people want," commented Doell.

She also feels that thinking has shifted to where people understand the importance of proper exercise as they age and will take advantage of this new service because of that change in mindset.

Those interested in more information and/or setting up an in-home appointment can call the Winkler office at 1-204-325-8555.

"We'll do an assessment initially and give them some information as to what we see, and we're hoping that as we do that and give them some strengthening exercises or flexibility, that they'll be safer when they are out and about," said Doell.
