What was supposed to be a normal trip back to Morden from Winnipeg for local resident John Reimer turned out to be just the opposite.

While towing a trailer after helping family members move, Reimer noticed smoke coming from under his truck's hood.

After pulling over the truck suddenly went up in flames.

He says they are still unsure of how the fire started, but suspect mechanical issues.

While the truck was a total loss, the local fire department was able to extinguish the flames before they reached the moving trailer.
