McHappy Day is a day where people come out to show their support of the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Charities across the country. This year between the Morden and Winkler locations a total of $8,203 was raised.

"I've been to the house and spoken to numerous families who have used the house," said Owner of the Morden and Winkler locations Scott Robertson. "It's surprising how many people from our communities use the house in Winnipeg. Most of the people who use the house are from rural communities like our own and again it's just wonderful to see the community come out and support such a great cause."

$1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal, and Hot McCafe Beverage sold on May 3rd, will be going to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada. In addition to this for just a $5 donation, you can purchase McHappy Day Socks, this years model has McHappy Day Hearts on one and Big Macs on the other.

Robertson noted one lady had purchased twenty-one pairs of socks with her one order on Wednesday, which was great to see.

"A heartfelt thank you to all who came out to show their support for Ronald McDonald House," added Robertson.

This is the 40th anniversary of McHappy Day and over those years the day has raised more than $56million in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and local children's charities.

The Ronald McDonald House supports more people from rural Manitoba than we could possibly expect and really is a place for families going through a difficult or stressful time to relax and feel at home.

"About year ago the Ronald McDonald House became part of our story. He was born with a diaphragmatic hernia, so he was critically ill. The Ronald McDonald House welcomed us with open arms, treated us like family, and loved us through the whole experience. We will do what ever we can to support them from here on in. Not that we didn't (support) them before, but it just changes when it becomes part of your story."

Geortzen noted seeing all of the people come and support the cause is truly a blessing and such a gift.
