The Miami Museum's Mosasaur Fossil, which they expect would've been around thirty-five to forty feet in length, very well could've shared the same water as the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre's (CFDC) 'Bruce'.

"The entire vertebrae, about 110 vertebrae, which is the backbone and almost a complete skull," said Miami Museum volunteer Joe Brown, who says this fossil was unearthed in 1987 a few miles south of the town.

The Museum is working toward displaying this fossil in its facility and Brown added they are wanting to display the original fossils instead of the traditional casting of them.

He is expecting to have the display complete at the end of September.

Brown stated this fossil is about eighty-three million years old and was back when this area was an inland sea.

In order to complete this project, the Museum is working toward raising over $12,000 to pay for the mounting of the display.

Brown noted you would like to make a donation to this project or become a sponsor you can contact Nedra Burnett at 435-2191.
