The pharmacy in Miami suffered a third break-in attempt in under two months Sunday night.

In the early morning hours of December 3rd, thieves attempted to gain entry by driving a vehicle into the front of the building. RCMP later recovered a damaged car outside of town.

While no merchandise was stolen in this latest attempt, it marks the pharmacy's third incident since October 15th.

Owner Sharon Maddison explains the two previous attempts saw thieves gain entry from the back door. "Before we could have it secured properly they hit us a second time three weeks later. Now the back is really secure, they decided to come in the front."

"They didn't get in, but they did a lot of damage trying to get in," she adds. "It's very stressful, but at least this time we have inventory."

In the previous two incidents the owners lost $9,000 in stolen merchandise.

"Opiod addiction, you hear about it all the time, and that's what's driving this," Maddison says.
