It's an item the City of Morden can check off its five-year capital plan list, a project that's been on the list for a number of years.

Santokh Randhawa, Morden's Deputy City Manager of Operations says they are installing a new storm sewer main along the west side of Buhler Drive from Fairway Drive to Highway #3.

"The project was in the five-year plan for a few years now. The road was in bad shape, and there were issues with the drainage on Fairway Drive, so all those things will be taken care of by this project."

The work on the storm sewer will be done in the first half of July, and once that is complete, the roadwork will begin, which will take one or two months to finish.

Randhawa says the project, including the storm sewer replacement, road work, and sidewalk comes at a cost of $960,000. He says part of it is being paid for through gas tax funds, and the rest is included in this year's operating budget.
