Morden Adult Education Centre (AEC) was the recipient of a roughly $3,000 grant from Adult Learning and Literacy, which is the governing body for adult education service in the Province. The grant was for technology and professional development stated AEC Director John Loewen.

"This year there were a few key items, that were on the wish list, but weren't must haves, but were certainly things that would improve things at the centre here. In mid November I filled out an application requesting for funds for several technology items. To their credit, Adult Learning and Literacy is very quick to analyze and turn around and report on those applications. Two weeks later we learned that just over $3,000 was approved," said Loewen.

According to Loewen incoming director Kelly Vipond will now have a new tablet to work on at meetings, and the money also helped cover a few odds and ends at the centre, which will improve content delivery.

Technology is seemingly becoming more and more required in our daily lives and this money will help the centre continue to meet this demand.

"Like any education program, more and more research is done online and you always need upgrades on programs. Some of the outcomes that students are faced with demand interacting with technology. Anytime we can upgrade and especially when we don't have to worry about the funding, it's always a bonus," said Loewen.
