By joining the 179th Morden Royal Canadian Air Cadet program you can learn some great qualities including leadership, citizenship, and respect while having fun.

"Our big goal is creating that sense of responsibility," said Commanding Officer Chris Flook. "You get your uniform by us, but it's up to the cadet to maintain that uniform."

The program will be starting up again with the first night being held at the Access Event Centre September 11th. Flook said he would like to see the group, which is open for kids aged 12 to 18, reach the 50 cadet mark.

The youth program is open to boys and girls and offers a variety of activities including; instructing, marching, range shooting, and even flying.

Flook said this group allows children to form friendships with not only people from the 179th squadron but from others throughout the country at national camps.

Even though September 11th is the first night for the Cadet Program, Flook noted you can still join all the way up until January. He noted after that date it's too far into the year, but would encourage you to come back again next year.

You can register by showing up to the opening night or by emailing 179morden@mymts.net.
