Morden residents will soon have access to every regular council meeting, even if they can't attend in person.

City council has decided to record its meetings and post those videos on its website.

Mayor Brandon Burley says its all part of an effort by council to be more transparent in the work and decisions it makes.

He says the idea to post council meetings to the website was the result of feeback they received from local residents who wanted to be more engaged in the community but were finding it challenging to attend council meetings due to other commitments.

Burley adds the new video feature will now allow anyone to attend these meetings, no matter what their challenges are.

Victor Karklins, Morden's new Marketing and Communications Coordinator, says the videos can be shared on social media and will make the work of council accessible to a larger group of people.
