May 23rd, 2017

Police received a report of mischief to a vehicle while parked at the Stardust Drive Inn on May 21st.  The owner noticed scratch marks all over the hood of her 2009 Volkswagen Golf and thinks it occurred between 1:30 – 2:30 am while she was working in the booth at the Drive Inn.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

May 23rd, 2017

A witness reports seeing four teenage boys kicking a cat in the middle of the 100 block of 7th Street in Morden.  The witness started yelling at the boys and they fled.  The cat was taken to the Morden Veterinarian Clinic with significant injuries to its head.  The boys are described to be between the ages of 15 and 17.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

Police are investigating a theft of money from a business in Morden involving an employee.  The business is missing an undisclosed amount of cash and the investigation is continuing with the possibility of charges.

May 25th, 2017

Around 1:00 am this date, police received an anonymous call of a possible impaired driver leaving the Traveller’s Inn in Morden.  Police located the vehicle driving north on 7th Street which then turned west onto Wardrop Street.  The vehicle was stopped and the female driver was observed to have an odor of liquor on her breath.  There were several cases of beer in the back seat behind the driver.  A roadside screening test was administered to the driver, which resulted in a fail.  The driver was transported back to the Morden Police Service and upon further searching, a small plastic baggie was found with marihuana inside her purse.  The driver provided further samples of her breath resulting in readings of 120mg% and 110mg%.  It was also discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license.  As a result, the 44-year-old female from Winkler is charged with Driving while Impaired, Driving over .08, Drive while Disqualified and Possession of a Controlled Substance.   She will be appearing Morden Provincial Court in July.

May 25th, 2017

Police are investigating some mischief involving graffiti on properties in the 400 block of 7th Street in Morden.  Two residences had their backyard sheds drawn on with a marker with various symbols and writings.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred in the parking lot of Gallery Wealth Management, situated at 75 Thornhill Street in Morden.  The incident occurred on May 19th sometime between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.  The driver parked her vehicle, a 2011 black Ford Fiesta, in the lot and later noticed a dent in the rear passenger’s quarter panel.  Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
