Morden Police Service will be receiving more than $27,000 to upgrade its outdoor firearms range.

This was made possible by the Manitoba Government's Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund.

The year-round range is used to by the Morden Police Service for training, as well as several other police agencies around the region.

Morden Police Chief Brad Neduzak says the renovations will allow for better training for Morden's officers, which in turn will provide better service to those in the community.

Neduzak also says the upgrade along with other services would not have been possible without funding from the Government.

"Not unlike any other area our budgets are tight. These are funds that allow us to do more and expand our services, our capabilities, and the services we can offer our communities."

Upgrades on the range are currently underway.
