Morden police responded to a report of an assault last week Tuesday. The call came in shortly after 1:00 a.m. when officers were dispatched to a motel regarding two males fighting outside their rooms.

Once on scene, the victim told police that the the suspect came out of nowhere and attacked him. The suspect then took off.

While police were speaking with the victim, the suspect returned to the area.

As a result, a 33 year old Morden resident was arrested for assault. He was released on an Undertaking and will be appearing in Morden Provincial Court in February.

In another case, Morden Police were were called regarding a break and enter in progress last Sunday over the supper hour.

The caller told officers that he was dropping his friend off at her residence when she found two youth in her house, and was preventing them from leaving while waiting for police.

Both youth claimed they were looking for their friend that lived there. When they couldn’t find their friend, they saw a decorative jar they liked and took it.

Nothing else was damaged or taken.

Both of the youth were referred to the youth community justice program.
