Morden Police received a call from ambulance dispatch of a lone male unconscious on the side of the road October 26.

The man was found in front of 505 North Railway Street in Morden. Police attended and met with the suspect who was now sitting up and speaking. The suspect was intoxicated and admitted to drinking.  He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and transported to Boundary Trails Health Centre for evaluation. He was released from hospital and lodged in police cells until sober. There were no charges as a result of this incident.  

On October 29, a 30-year-old female Morden resident was arrested for breaching a recognizance after being caught searching through donated items behind the Morden Thrift Store.

Morden Police received a call around 2:40 am October 29 regarding two individuals walking east along the railway tracks with backpacks behind some buildings that had been the target of graffiti in the past. Police caught up to the individuals on the east side of the Morden Thrift Store where they were searching through the donated items.

A check with Police Dispatch indicated the one individual was on a Recognizance to abide by a curfew of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. The 30-year-old female from Morden was arrested and charged with one count of Breach of Recognizance. She will be appearing in Morden Provincial Court in December.

The accused was also served a one-year banning notice from attending the Morden Thrift Store.

Police received a report of a vehicle that was vandalized while parked on North Railway Street in Morden.  The owner parked her vehicle across from the Traveller’s Inn around 10:30 pm on October 21st and picked it up at 9:00 am the next morning. When the owner picked up the vehicle, she noticed that someone had scratched the back bumper with an object. Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on October 21st in front of 317 Stephen Street in Morden. The driver parked their vehicle on Stephen Street facing west around 10:00 am and returned at 12:00 pm to find damage to the driver’s front fender. The vehicle that was damaged is a 2017 black Chevrolet Cruze. October 26th, 2017

A 27-year-old male from Morden has been charged with 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance after police conducted a curfew check. The accused was placed on a Recognizance on October 10th with one of the conditions to be at his home address between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. Police attended to his residence but his mother advised that he was not home and did not know where he was. Again, on October 29th, police attended to the accused’s residence and found him not to be home.  He was eventually served a Promise to Appear in Morden Provincial Court in December.
