Morden Police Service report for February 18-25:

At 11:25 am, February 20th, a male attended the Morden Police Service office to report that he was just assaulted outside a business in Morden. The victim confronted another male about taking cigarette butts from the outside ashtray and was punched in the face causing a minor cut to his lip. The victim did not know the suspect and was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspect. Police patrolled the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred overnight on February 14th while the vehicle was parked at a residence on Nelson Street. A large black and yellow DeWalt tool bag with several tools inside the bag was taken from inside the truck. Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

At 6:30 am, February 21st, police were dispatched to a residence in Morden to remove a subject who was yelling and causing a disturbance. Police attended and removed the subject. No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

At 11:00 pm, February 23rd, police were dispatched to a local establishment with a complaint of a female causing a disturbance. This female was removed from the property but then returned to the back door of the business. Police attended but the female suspect had left the area. No charges were laid as a result of this incident.

February 24th, Police received a call from a female caller requesting assistance with removing her boyfriend from her residence. Police attended the residence and the male was no longer there but was located in the area. He was told that he was no longer welcome at the residence.

During this reporting period, Morden Police Service issued two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle with a fine of $298 each, two tickets for Disobey Traffic Control Device, namely red light with a fine of $203 each and one ticket for Drive without Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance with a $672 fine.
