Morden-Winkler MLA Cameron Friesen says he was pleased to see the Pembina Valley Watershed District receive their requested $500,000 grant. Friesen notes the Pembina Plum initiative is a robust local effort to create watershed resiliency.

"It's a good project, it's a good investment and it's part of an overall plan of our government to make sure we're leaving a legacy of sustainable natural resources for all Manitobans to enjoy."

Friesen says many aren't fully aware of the important on-going work of the Pembina Valley Watershed District, work that is "In all of our best interest."

"I'm so pleased to see that this new funding is flowing from the Province of Manitoba to support this work right where we live," Friesen adds.
