A 30 year old man from Morris is facing weapons charges following an incident Tuesday.

File photo.

RCMP say the man entered a business on Main Street in Morris around 2:30 p.m. when employees noticed he had a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants. Staff also reported the man was behaving erratically - believed to be under the influence of drugs - however he did not threaten anyone.

Police were contacted and the man was asked to wait for an employee to help him into an office.

Upon arrival at the scene, police set up a perimeter while occupants of the building safely exited. Officers then entered the business and took the man into custody without incident.

The firearm was identified as an airsoft BB gun.

RCMP have charged the man with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Carrying Concealed Weapon, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
